St. Andrews State Park has five distinct ecological systems in one place, which makes it the perfect place for seeing a diverse variety of birds, fish, butterflies, and more! Check out the visitors center and learn of the unique history of the castaway Theodore who shipwrecked on the white sandy beaches, and then never left! The beautiful setting lays a great opportunity to snorkel, fish, and surf in the emerald waters; take a nature walk and count all the birds and butterflies you can see, or simply relax on the beach.

Did you know that anyone can go surf fishing right from the white, sandy beaches of Panama City Beach? Regardless of age or experience, you can try your hand at catching some Spanish mackerel, the occasional shark, or the rare pompano. All you need is some good bait from a local shop and maybe a few tips from the experts there and you can choose your spot along the 27 miles of beach. The best time to go out is sunrise and sunet when the fish are biting the most, just watch out for swimmers around you.
